After the trailer released, we saw a few new gameplay scenes, and we all had one question, How big is the open world in Death Stranding?
At this point, we all know that the game is an Open World, Adventure game and is a PlayStation exclusive. Right now, It’s hard to tell, most of the gameplay footage we’ve seen before, took place in very similar environments. But this new trailer had some new and exciting settings that may give us a glimpse on how big is this world, we get a look at some new areas, such as a forest and a snowy mountain. These snowy mountains, the game creator, Hideo Kojima has tried to explain the scope of the world you’ll be navigating, and there’s something familiar about what he says.
In the new DEATH STRANDING trailer, there’s a scene Sam sets up the rope. The snow mountain is not the set, the path exists and you can actually go climb up the mountain. The snow mountain appears in the beginning of the trailer is exactly what it is.#DEATHSTRANDING #デススト pic.twitter.com/IhODkpG66R

The mountain we see in the distance of the first shot is the same one we see the main character, Sam scaling later in the trailer. That seems to be pretty far, and that’s Awesome.
It’ll be interesting to see how large the map is, Death Stranding is powered by the same engine as Horizon Zero Dawn, and that game proves that the Decima engine is capable of producing a sizeable and very lovely looking open world while maintaining excellent performance overall. Hopefully, we’ll see more of what the environment in the game is soon.
