It was reported that a total of 770,000 players have been banned since the release of the reporting tool in Apex Legends since the March 19 Season One update. This tool has had a significant impact on discovering new and old cheats that were being used in the game.

The amount of people banned is massive. However, this is not an uncommon occurrence for multiplayer games. Back in December after CS:GO went Free To Play more than 600,000 Steam accounts got VAC bans and before that the number of monthly bans never surpassed 200,000.

Respawn stressed its dedication to getting rid of cheaters. “We take cheating in Apex incredibly serious and have a large amount of resources tackling it from a variety of angles. It is a constant war with the cheat makers that we will continue to fight,” said Jay Frechette, Respawn’s community manager.
